This was very, very good indeed.
I made this cake for the family this evening. It was very popular and everyone wanted more. I prepared the tea and added extra milk as I hoped to sample more Masala chai to recapture drinking it in India. Unfortunately, it only yielded the 200 ml required to add to the cake. Next time I will boil the milk for less time and add lots more milk so I can sample my chai tea. I loved the ginger and cardamom flavour in the cake. Added the liquid of half a lime instead of the lemon worked well.
You are welcome Fiona.
It sounds as though the bake went well Matthew. Cake recipes can be use for any occasion. Not just Birthday!
Thank you so much for your lovely comments! Delighted you enjoyed this cake, I must say it is one of my favourites. I am so sorry there was not enough Masala Chai-which really is one of my favourite tea drinks -I am travelling to India in a few weeks so can't wait to be drinking it every day! Fiona
This I definitely have to try!
UPDATE:
I tried - and it was brilliant. No birthdays in sight, but that didn’t matter. It’s just a very tasty cake!
