This is what you ask for when you’re a kid in the Caribbean and you’re thirsty. It’s just sugar water with lime, really, and the old folks call it a ‘wash’. It’s a wonderful thirst-quencher.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp runny honey
  • 4 tbsp demerara sugar
  • juice of

Method

  • Mix all the ingredients together, starting with the honey and sugar and gradually adding the liquids to make sure everything’s thoroughly blended. Taste to see whether you need more water or sugar.
