I was lucky to spend time with my Saint Lucian grandmother, who brought her style of cooking, including this recipe, to Barbados. When I was a child, this was my favorite dish. It is made with cassava meal and sweet, buttery Caribbean avocados, and topped with Creole Sauce. Cassava meal, also known as farine, is a coarse flour, usually homemade by seasoned farine makers. Farine means “flour” in French, so if you go to the markets in Saint Lucia and ask for farine, they will gi
