Summer Corn

Dempsey Farms has been located on St. Helena Island for the past sixty years; today, a fourth generation of family members works the farm. Their season begins with strawberries in the spring; okra, tomatoes, squash, and peppers in the summer; and pumpkins in the fall. But to me, the best crop of all is their corn—white “Milky Way,” or bicolored, it doesn’t matter one bit. It’s all wonderful.
