The tart tangy taste of tamarind (try saying that fast!) works so well with the sweetness of dates, making this chutney the perfect accompaniment to pretty much any Indian snack or even cheese. It’s quick and easy to make, requires no cooking whatsoever and will last in the fridge for up to a week.

Ingredients

  • 120 g dates
  • 150 ml water
  • ½ tsp

Method

  1. Before putting the dates into your blender, chop them up and remove the stones. Add a little of the water to help soften them and blitz to a rough paste.
