This is a beautiful, simple smoothie to make when you have a really ripe mango. It doesn’t need any extra thickening ingredient and tastes wonderful with the sharpness of the lime.


  • 1 ripe mango
  • 1 lime
  • a little water or ice (optional)


Slice the mango down each side of the stone to obtain 3 sections, one of which contains the stone. This makes it easier to pare away the skin and the stone to obtain the mango flesh. Put all the pieces of mango into a blender. Grate in a little lime zest, if you like, and process until smooth.
