  • About

There are lots of different tales about this famed bread. One story has it that a fisherman became annoyed with his wife who only gave him cornmeal and molasses for dinner. One day he mixed yeast with flour into the cornmeal and molasses and baked it into a loaf of bread, muttering ‘Anna damn her! This is what I like.’ Quite right he was, too; it is a beautiful brown bread that rises easily and has a special taste.
