  • 8 oz/225 g wholemeal flour, with the coarse bran sifted out
  • 1 pinch

Method

Grease the bottom of a cooking pot, and place it over a gentle heat to warm up.

Chop the fat into small pieces, ¼ inch or less, mix into the flour and salt, and then mix in just enough milk to produce a stiff dough, and form into an 8-inch diameter round cake, floured top and bottom.
