This is a decidedly fancy cookie, great with ice cream or sherbet as the dessert for an elaborate or plain meal. The recipe comes from my friend Gary Peese of Austin, Texas, who is always sending me wonderful recipes—even when I forget they were from him.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon

  1. Set a rack in the middle level of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees.
