Mandelbrot, the most traditional Jewish cookie, is really a type of biscotti. This recipe is a combination and variation of excellent recipes sent to me by Rhonda Kaplan of Toronto and Michele Lifshen-Reing, who was a student in my career baking course at Peter Rump’s New York Cooking School.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon

  1. Set a rack in the middle level of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees.
  2. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir well to mix. Stir in the almonds.
