Bread Stuffing

Double recipe for a 10-pound turkey


  • 3 tblsp. chopped onion (optional)
  • c. melted butter or regular margarine
  • 4 c. dry bread cubes
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • ¼ tsp. poultry seasoning
  • Sage to taste (optional)
  • Hot chicken broth or water


  • Cook onion in 2 tblsp. melted butter over low heat until it softens. Do not brown.
  • Combine onion, bread cubes and seasonings. Add remaining butter and enough broth (canned broth may be used) to moisten. Toss to mix.
