Ingredients

  • c. chopped dates
  • 1 c. hot water
  • ¾ c.

Method

  • Mix chopped dates and hot water; set aside to cool.
  • Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat until fluffy.
  • Sift together flour, soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with date mixture. Mix well after each addition. Stir in vanilla and ½ c. chocolate pieces. Spread batter in greased 13x9x2" baking pan.
