  • 1 medium-sized onion, chopped fine
  • 1 teaspoon bacon drippings
  • 1 teaspoon


  1. Fry onion in bacon drippings. Sprinkle with paprika and immediately add ¼ cup water. Cook until liquid disappears and only clear fat remains.
  2. Add tomato purée and sliced green peppers. Add salt. Add sausage and cook under a heavy lid over low heat for about 20 minutes.
