Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup uncooked rice
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • ¼ teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 lemon, peeled and cut into very thin slices
  • ½ bay leaf
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • cups chicken broth

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Melt butter in a baking casserole and sauté rice and onion in the butter for 10 minutes, while stirring every now and then.
  2. Add pepper, salt, paper-thin lemon slices, bay leaf, wine and chicken broth. Bring to a boil.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Serve with fried fish or simple veal dishes.
