  • cup melted lard or butter
  • ¾ cup raspberry or strawberry jam


  1. Let the prepared strudel dough dry for 10 minutes. Then sprinkle it with some of the melted lard or butter, and spread jam on top.
  2. Whip the egg yolks with sugar. Add ground almonds.
  3. Whip egg whites till very stiff, and gently fold them into the almond mixture.
  4. Fill top half of strudel sheet with the mixture. Then roll the dough (see basic recip
