Sweet-and-sour Dipping Sauce


  • 120 ml (4 fl oz) puréed canned tomatoes or passata
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Chinese white rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons light soy sauce


Heat all the ingredients for the dipping sauce in a small saucepan and simmer for 5 minutes over a very low heat. Transfer the sauce to a small bowl to cool. Make this sauce ahead of time and leave it to cool until you are ready to use.
