You’ll like what the nuts do to apple pie—both in flavor and texture


  • Unbaked 9" pie shell
  • ¼ c. chopped pecans
  • 6 c. sliced peeled apples
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. flour
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. nutmeg
  • Spicy Pecan Topping


  • Sprinkle chopped pecans in bottom of pie shell. Combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Turn into pie shell and spread topping over apple mixture.
  • Bake in hot oven (425°F.) 40 to 45 minutes, or until apples are tender and pie top is a rich brown.
