Ingredients

Unbaked 9" pie shell
2 c. elderberries
1½ c. chopped peeled tart apples

Method

Wash and stem elderberries. (Hold berries in palm of hand and pull stems off with wire egg beater, the kind shaped like tennis racquet.)
Combine elderberries, apples, sugar, salt and tapioca, crushing berries with spoon.
Spoon mixture into pie shell; dot with butter; top with pastry lattice.
