Fine with chicken dinners—make it with frozen cranberries in summer


  • Pastry for 2-Crust Pie
  • c. ground fresh cranberries
  • 1 c. ground unpeeled apple (about 2 medium)
  • ½ c. ground orange pulp and peel (1 small)
  • ½ c. chopped nuts
  • c. sugar
  • 2 tblsp. flour
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 tblsp. butter


  • Combine cranberries, apple, orange, nuts, sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Place in pastry-lined 9" pie pan. Dot with butter.
  • Adjust latticed top crust; flute edges. Bake in hot oven (425°F.) until pastry is browned and juice begins to bubble through openings in lattice, 40 to 50 minutes.
