Method

  • Thoroughly mix eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla; slowly stir in scalded milk. Pour at once into pie shell. Dust lightly with nutmeg.
  • Bake in very hot oven (475°F.) 5 minutes, then at 425°F. for 10 minutes, or until knife inserted halfway between center and edge of pie comes out clean. Serve cool or chilled.
