  • Unbaked 9" pie shell
  • 1 c. dairy sour cream
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ¾ c. dates, cut in pieces
  • ½ c. chopped pecans
  • Whipped cream or ice cream


  • Combine sour cream, eggs, sugar and seasonings in a bowl; mix well. Add dates and pecans. (Put dates and nuts through food chopper to save time.) Blend well. Pour into pie shell.
  • Bake in moderate oven (375°F.) 30 minutes, or until filling is set and browned. Serve spread with whipped cream or small scoops of vanilla ice cream. Makes 8 servings.
