Deep-Dish Pear-Mincemeat Pie

Bake this juicy pie with cheese crust on a frosty day—enjoy compliments


  • Cheese Pastry for 1-crust pie
  • 4 large pears (3 c. sliced)
  • ¼ c. sugar
  • 1 tblsp. flour
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • c. prepared mincemeat
  • 1 tblsp. lemon juice
  • 2 tblsp. butter


  • Arrange pear slices in bottom of 8" X 8" X 2" baking dish. Combine sugar, flour and salt; sprinkle over pears. Cover with mincemeat, sprinkle with lemon juice and dot with butter.
  • Roll pastry about 1" larger than top of baking dish. Place pastry on fruit. Fold a little of the pastry under; crimp edges and cut slits.
  • Bake in hot oven (425°F.) 35 to 40 minutes. Serve warm.
