Roll pastry ⅛" thick. Cut in 5" circles. On each pastry round place about 1½ tblsp. fruit mixture. Fold pastry to make half-moons; press edges together with fork tines to seal. Prick tops in several places.
Fry turnovers in deep hot fat (375°F.) until light brown, about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with sifted confectioners sugar.
