Canned apricots go glamorous in pie

Ingredients

  • Unbaked 9" pie shell
  • 1 (1 lb. 13 oz.) can apricot halves, drained
  • 1 tblsp. lemon juice
  • ½ c. flour
  • ¾ c. sugar
  • ¼ tsp. cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. nutmeg
  • ¼ c. butter or margarine
  • 1 pt. vanilla ice cream

Method

  • Spread apricots in pie shell; sprinkle with lemon juice.
  • Combine flour, sugar and spices. Mix with butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apricots.
  • Bake in hot oven (400°F.) 40 minutes. Serve warm or cold, topped with scoops of ice cream.
