This is my adaption of the original Cumberland pie, the fore-runner of mincemeat pies, which was originally made with mutton. I have adapted it to boar for my friend Peter Gott who raises wild boar in Cumbria and does such wonderful things with them. His partner Christine also makes wonderful pies, so this is for them.
