Honeycomb Cakes of Cowslips

Another of Mrs. Eales’ receipts


  1. Take about ½ lb. fine sugar.
  2. Sift it through a hair sieve.
  3. Wet it a little more than for a candy with a little water.
  4. Boil it almost to candy height (245°F.)
  5. Then put in the petals of the flowers.
  6. Boil them a little in the candy or it will be too thin.
  7. Then put in card coffins.
