This is really nothing more than a small bowl from the oven with an egg in it that cooks in the sauce. There are endless variations, so delicious and ready in a jiffy. As a starting point, for one serving you will require:

  • dab of butter
  • freshly ground pepper and salt
  • 1 tbsp thick cream

Method

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F/Gas 4). Grease a small oven-proof bowl with butter. Sprinkle with pepper and salt. Fill the bottom with cream and cover with filling, which can be ham, salmon or a pre-cooked vegetable. Break the egg on it. You could also add some spices on it. Place th
