  • 4 ozs (115 g) pistachio nuts (pista)
  • 2 tablespoonfuls water
  • 2 ozs (60 g) castor sugar
  • 1 silver leaf—optional


Soak, peel and grate the pistachios finely. Prepare syrup with sugar and water and boil till it is of one-thread consistency. Add grated pistachios and stir till they are thoroughly mixed up and dried. Spread the pistachio-sugar mixture over a greased plate, and shape into a rectangle. Decorate with a silver leaf (optional). Cool, cut into neat shapes and arrange before serving.
