Known as labneh, strained yogurt frequents the Levantine table. It can be served as part of a mezze with pounded garlic and chopped mint, preserved in some form, or simply spread onto Arabic bread with slivers of cucumber, a dusting of herbs and a drizzle of oil, or rolled into golf-sized balls and preserved in olive oil. The health benefits are numerous, and importantly it is also suitable for people who are lactose intolerant. The yogurt you see labelled as “Greek yogurt” on superm
