Known as labneh, strained yogurt frequents the Levantine table. It can be served as part of a mezze with pounded garlic and chopped mint, preserved in some form, or simply spread onto Arabic bread with slivers of cucumber, a dusting of herbs and a drizzle of oil, or rolled into golf-sized balls and preserved in olive oil.
