This luxurious combination of salmon, rice and puff pastry is one of Russia’s most famous dishes. Although this is a simplified version, it is still perfect for the festive table.

Ingredients

  • 50 g/2 oz/4 tbsp butter
  • 1 small

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas 6. Melt the butter in a pan, add the finely chopped onion and cook gently for 10 minutes, or until soft.
  2. Stir in the cooked rice, dill, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
