This recipe, a longtime family favorite that we often served for Passover, was given to my mom by our rabbi’s wife. It is hard to mess up and is so easy to prepare that it leaves you free to fuss with the rest of the meal. I find a million ways to customize it. I love to use different mustards; sometimes I use a grainy French mustard and other times a flavorful Champagne variety.
