I once had to taste 30 steaks in a day. Being fundamentally greedy, I couldn’t just take a slice of each. I started at a sprint, wolfing down great slabs of the first half-dozen. The pace did slow and, by the end, even thinking became vexed. I could barely move. Anyway, the next day saw my fridge filled with cold, cooked steak.
