  • About

Like many other Americans, for years we ate sweet potatoes only on Thanksgiving and other holidays. Sweet potato slices can be baked as well as grilled.

  • 3 or 4 sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into ¼-inch slices (1½ to 2 pounds)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt

    • Place the sweet potato slices in a large bowl and drizzle with the olive oil. Toss to coat evenly.
    • Arrange the slices in a grill basket or place on a fine mesh sheet designed to keep small pieces of grilled foods from falling into the fire. Grill until browned on 1 side, turn, and grill the other side until potatoes are tender. It will take 20 to 25 minutes total cooking time, depending on the heat of the fire. Sprinkle with salt and serve.
