Very much a savoury dish, although your eyes lead you down thoughts of rice pudding and carrot halwa. This is a piece of Persian ingenuity – a brave, savoury milk rice that hijacks all the benefits of Eastern fragranced exoticism with the good homely crust of your nan’s rice pud. These little pots work particularly well with grilled/broiled and barbecue-style meats, or dishes with a dry Eastern slant.
