These delicious little glazed cookies whose name translates into “One for me and one for you” were traditionally made on November 2nd, the day of the Dead, and children found them as little treats from their departed ancestors, whom they got to know, love, and not fear through the family stories. One of my physical therapists at The Kessler Institute, Jo Cadicina, fondly remembered her grandmother making them after she came to America from Palermo.
