  • About

These crispy yam bites, Kath Alu Bhoja, are rather like French fries with a spicy coating, and are often served at informal parties as an appetizer with drinks. They are easy to make and very tasty. Yams are usually readily available in larger supermarkets, as well as in Asian and African stores.

Ingredients

  • 450 g/1 lb yam
  • 45 ml/3 tbsp<

Method

  1. Peel the yam and slice the flesh into thin fingers to resemble French fries. Wash and dry thoroughly with a dish cloth.

  2. In a large frying pan, heat the oil over a low heat. Add the garlic and fry gently until it is light brown.
