  • About

This very rare preparation is still another winter-only treat. After you eat it, you tend to stay quite warm, thus making it not quite the thing to eat if you don’t have air-conditioning.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups glutinous rice (also known as “sweet rice”)
  • 1 tablespoon dried shrimp
  • 1

Method

To prepare rice

Place the rice in large bowl. Wash 3 or 4 times with cold water, then drain thoroughly. Place the rice in a 9-inch cake pan, add 2 cups of cold water, and place the pan in the steamer. Steam for 30 to 40 minutes or until the rice is soft and sticks together. Set aside.
