  • About

Basically a whiskey sling (a drink with spirits, sugar, and water) with crushed ice instead of water, this is the drink that launched mixology. Simple, elegant, and, most importantly, cold, it comes with an aromatic mint garnish that one inhales as one sips the sweetened bourbon.

Ingredients

  • ¾ fl oz (20 ml) simple syrup (see note)
  • 2 fl oz (

Method

Pour the simple syrup into a julep cup or old fashioned glass filled with crushed ice. Stir well. Add the bourbon and stir until a film of ice forms on the exterior of the cup. Garnish with the mint sprigs.
