Pear Compote

Kompot z Gruszek


  • 1 doz. firm pears
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups white or red wine
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1 cup sugar


Peel pears, leaving stems attached. Bring to a boil the wine, sugar, vanilla and cloves. Add pears and simmer until pears are transparent and well colored. Remove pears and cook syrup down to the consistency of cream. Pour over pears. Serve ice cold with white cream cheese.
