  • About

Frosty, tart, and refreshing, this simple ice suggests the flavors of citrus and strawberry, as well as kiwi. Wonderful after a light summer lunch or to wind up a complex cool-season dinner.

Ingredients

  • cup sugar
  • cups water
  • 5-7 kiwis

Method

  1. Combine sugar and water and bring to a boil, stirring. Simmer for 5 minutes, then cool and chill.
  2. Halve 5 kiwis and scoop flesh into container of a food processor (a melon-ball cutter works well). Add the lime juice and purée the mixture (do not overprocess); you should have 2 cups. Add kiwis, as necessary, to equal this amount. Scrape into a bowl; chill.
