Ugli Fruit, Papaya, and Strawberries

Although no one really needs a recipe for a simple fruit cup, this tasted lovely one sunny brunch and might serve as an idea shaper. Blueberries and mango would do nicely in place of strawberries and papaya, orange-flower water instead of liqueur.

Ingredients

  • 1 pint very ripe strawberries, rinsed
  • ½ full-ripe medium papaya (about ¾ pound)

Method

  1. Hull berries and slice thin; place in serving dish. Remove papaya seeds; peel and cut into slivers about same size as strawberries. Add to dish.
  2. Peel ugli fruits, shaving off all pith and membrane to expose flesh. Holding ugli over fruit bowl, slice down to the core on either side of each membrane partition to free each section; let drop into dish. Squeeze empt
