This is a basic recipe to allow for loads of creativity and for the seasonal availability of fruits.

  • 2 cups organic soy milk, almond milk, or organic dairy milk
  • 1 citrus fruit, peeled, seeded, and cut into slices
  • 1 cup organic low-fat plain yogurt or dairy-free “yogurt,” or 2 servings of protein powder
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen organic fruit pieces: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, bananas, mango, pineapple, papaya, apples, pears, ripe persimmons, seedless watermelon, or other
  • 2 teaspoons organic flax oil
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup, organic agave, local honey, or other sweetener (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons organic wheat germ

Combine ingredients in a blender cup. Cover and blend on high speed for about 45 seconds or until blended smooth.
