Laver bread is sold in many places in South Wales. Raymond Rees, a fishmonger in Carmarthen who sells it, said that the local people don’t make cakes out of it as tradition has it in books. They heat the mixture for 3 or 4 minutes in a pan and then spread it on fried bread and serve it with bacon. This is an excellent and appetizing way of presenting a food which is very beneficial yet rather unpleasant in texture and appearance.
