Strawberry ice-cream must be the most popular ice-cream after vanilla. If strawberries are one of your favourite flavours, this ice-cream makes a wonderful dessert accompanied by some baked strawberries and a crisp biscuit.
Whisk yolks with ¾ cup of the sugar until pale. Bring cream to the boil in a large saucepan. Pour hot cream into the egg mixture, stirring constantly. Return mixture to the saucepan and stir constantly with a wooden spoon over a low heat until the custard thickens enough to coat the back of the spoon.
