America’s very own contribution to the world of cheesecake came after a delicious accident when a New York dairy farmer invented cream cheese in the 19th century. By the 1900s, all New Yorkers loved cheesecake. Each region of the world has its own take on a great cheesecake, but this classic version has a deep, baked, smooth creamy topping and a biscuity base - and always wows a crowd. I like to serve it plain, just as the New Yorkers do, with no toppings or side additions of fruit or choco
