Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons bacon fat, or other fat or oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 125

Method

Heat the fat and cook the onion until soft and lightly browned. Add the oatmeal and cook for another five minutes stirring occasionally. Season.

Alternatively cook everything in the microwave for 3-4 minutes, stirring half way through.

Mix the skirlie with the butter so that it can be spread more easily. Spread on buttered toast.
