  • About
Currants are often sold still attached to the stalk, and the easiest way to remove them is to slide the tines of a fork down either side of the stalk, popping off the berries on either side. This is called ‘strigging’ or stemming (the word ‘strig’ was the sixteenth century name for a stalk).
