Types of Mussels

Marine mussels are cultivated in temperate seas all over the world. Varieties include the common mussel, with dark blue to black shells (pictured right), the Mediterranean mussel, the horse mussel and the green-lipped mussel (pictured far right), sometimes called the New Zealand green mussel.
