There is an old stereotype that Chinese desserts are dull and uninteresting, but I disagree. Even though dessert is not really a vital part of Chinese cuisine, it’s not without its varieties. In fact, Chinese desserts can include sweet stuffed pancakes, soothing drinks, cooling shaved ice, pastry and tarts, rice or sticky-rice based decadent desserts, which are, nonetheless, quite different from the western definition of desserts.
