  • About
At the ferry end of South Embankment, the name given to the quayside promenade at Dartmouth, a huge medieval cannon points straight out to sea. At the other end of the strip, at number two, an exuberantly decorative pseudo-Tudor, mock-tiled and balconied frontage shaded by blue canopies advertises the presence of the Carved Angel. The pleasure within is brought instantly to life by three large plate glass shop windows framed by white tubs which, according to the season, may be planted with fuchsia, petunia, begonia, miniature cyclamen, crocus or hyacinth.
